Financial Information

Tuition and Fees

  • Tuition Fee and Book Fee for 2008-2009 is $9,950.
  • A $400 non-refundable registration fee is required.
  • Book Rental Fee is $250. The fee is approximately half the cost of purchasing new books. This rental program may allow a student to save up to 50% in textbook costs.
  • Seniors are assessed a Senior Fee to cover the costs of graduation and year-end school events.
  • Uniforms can be purchased through independent uniform companies. Parents are encouraged to comparison shop among the companies offering the McNamara uniform.
  • Bishop McNamara Parents are required to donate at least 10 hours of service to the school during the academic year. If a parent is unable to fulfill this requirement, he/she is responsible for a donation of $20 dollars per service hour to the school.

Payment Plan

  • Parents can always choose to pay tuition in full before the due date. A $250 discount is awarded for early full payment.
  • Parents, who wish to pay in installments, can make arrangements through FACTS Tuition Management. Call 1-800-TO-FACTS or 1-800-863-2287 for more information.
Financial Aid
  • Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance Program
    • Offers tuition assistance to Catholic or non-Catholic students apllying to or currently enrolled in a Ctholic high school in the Archidiocese of Washington
    • Distributed on the basis of family need.
    • Forms are available in late October online at http://www.adw.org or in the school office.
    • Completed Student Aid Forms and all attachments must be sent to the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) by the due date.
  • BMHS Tuition Grant
    • Form may be found on your forms download page.
    • Admissions decisions are independent of financial aid considerations
  • The Moreau Scholarship
    • is a four-year full tuition scholarship. It is based on academic achievement and a desire to attend Bishop McNamara High School.
    • In December, each Catholic elementary school is asked to nominate its top 2% of academic achievers.
    • Students must have expressed an interest in attending Bishop McNamara High School.
    • Each student must submit an essay along with his or her application.
    • Students are required to take a scholarship examination in January.
    • Scholarships will be awarded based upon the results of the scholarship examination.
    • A student may continue to be eligible for this scholarship provided he/she takes honors. courses and maintains a 3.5 GPA at the end of each academic year.
  • Moreau Merit and Presidential Scholarships
    • Awarded on the results of a scholarship examination in January.
    • A written essay is required.
    • Based on records provided by the student's grade school.
  • The Band Boosters' Award performance scholarships
    • Offered to a limited number of incoming freshmen for the academic year.
    • Students must agree to study privately.
    • Students must agree to audition for select bands.
    • Students must participate in state and/or national festivals.
    • Students must maintain a grade of 'A' in their school ensemble.
  • Fine Arts Scholarships in the areas of Choir, Dance and Drama are awarded to incoming freshmen based upon audition results.
  • A Visual Arts Scholarship is awarded to an incoming ninth grader based upon evaluation of a portfolio submission.
